GENERAL EVENT QUESTIONS

What are the 2016 deadlines?

One of the most important deadlines: September 25th - Pre-Registration closes! 

How much does registration cost? Pre-Registration Fees – through 9/25/16
$30 Walker – online registration
$35 Walker – offline registration
$40 5K or 10K Runner – online registration
$45 5K or 10K Runner – offline registration

Note: An additional $7 charge will be added for those who choose to have their participant packet mailed prior to the race.

Race Day Registration Fee – 10/1/16
$60 Walkers, 5K and 10K Runners
Is there a fundraising minimum to participate? AIDS Run & Walk Chicago does not require walkers or runners to raise a minimum amount of money. However, we strongly encourage everyone to set a fundraising goal and strive to achieve it. Participants who do fundraise are eligible for several great Incentive Prizes and other perks! Learn the impact of your fundraising.
I am a returning participant and cannot remember my login information from last year. What should I do? Click "LOG IN" on the homepage. Then, you'll have the option to have your username and password sent to you. The system will automatically send this information to the email you used to register last year. If you have further trouble, please feel free to give us a call at 312-334-0946.
I registered to the wrong team. Can I change that? To change the team you are registered to, please email runwalk@aidschicago.org. So that we may resolve the issue as efficiently as possible, please include the following information: your first and last name, your birthday, the team you would like to join.
If I paid the mailing fee with my registration, when will I receive my packet in the mail? What if I don’t receive it? Racer packets will be mailed September 12. Please allow 5-7 business days for delivery via USPS. If you have not received your packet by Race Day, please visit the Registration Tent on October 1 at Soldier Field. Please bring your photo ID and registration confirmation receipt. We will get you all set to race!
What race did I sign up for? If you are unsure of which race you've signed up for, please email runwalk@aidschicago.org. Include your first and last name and birthday in your email.
How do I change the information on my registration profile? Email runwalk@aidschicago.org with your first and last name, email and address. Let us know the information you'd like to change! 
I can't attend the event anymore. Can I still get my shirt? We’re sorry you can’t make it! We’d be happy to send your T-shirt – please just email runwalk@aidschicago.org. So that we may help you as efficiently as possible, please include the following information in your email: your first and last name, your birthday and the address to which you’d like your package sent. (Please note, we do not offer refunds for registration fees.)

 

 

 

RACE DAY QUESTIONS 

Will there be a safe area where I can keep my personal belongings during the race?

The AIDS Run & Walk Chicago will host a complimentary Gear Check throughout the morning of the race. Please see the Race Day section of the site for the location of Gear Check. 

How long is the race course?

The walker and 5K runner course are both 5 kilometers (3.1 miles). The 10K runner course is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Check out the Event Day page for more information.

Where will the race course lead participants?

  5K Walk--From the Festival Area, starting at Waldron Dr., north on the Lakefront Trail along lake to Jackson Blvd., then south to Waldron Dr.

  5K RUN--From the Festival Area, starting on Waldron Dr., south on the Lakefront Trail to 31st St., then north to Waldron Dr.

  10K RUN
--From the Festival Area, starting on Waldron Dr., south on the Lakefront Trail to just beyond Oakwood Blvd., then north to Waldron Dr.

How do I get there?
We've partnered with Lyft to get you to AIDS Run & Walk Chicago. New Lyft users who us code AIDSRUNWALK will receive up to $50 off, $5 off each of the first 10 rides.

Where should I park?

Parking will be available in the Waldron Garage http://www.soldierfieldparking.com/map.php, accessible via Museum Campus Drive and 18th Dr. Parking is $20 per car.  Note: Waldron Drive will be closed to traffic for the event.  

Can I run/walk with my dog?

Of course! We love dogs! 

Can I bring my children to the event?

Yes! Children 12 years old and under are free to participate in the walk only (with the exception of runners with strollers). However, if you would like a T-Shirt for your child, you will need to register them for the event. Regular registration fees apply.
