It is AIDS Walk time again in Chicago and here I am asking for your help. I am on the board of Season of Concern and will be walking with the SOC team on October 1. In the past 30 yeares, Season of Concern has raised thousands of dollars from artists and generous theater patrons to provide direct financial support to hundreds of people in the Chicago theater community -- who are experiencing a catastrophic illness or a health-related emergency or event, including but not limited to HIV/AIDS. Ninety percent -- that's 90% -- of the dollars the Season of Concern raises for the AIDS Walk comes back to Season of Concern to support our programs and 10% goes to the AIDS Foundation of Chicago to support the important work it does throughout metropolitan Chicago.
I am hoping you will consider a donation to the AIDS Walk to support Season of Concern and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.*
* More than 30 years ago I was the 3rd president of the board of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. I am very proud to have been around in those early days of AFC and am also very proud of the organization it has become and the important work that it continues to do as we continue to address this critical heatlh issue.
