Welcome to My Personal Page
If you know me well and are reading this right now, you also know that I have grown incredibly passionate about working with the wonderful organization of the Chicago Recovery Alliance (CRA) to treat all people with dignity and respect. CRA is comprised of a dedicated group of people who recognize and respect human beings, and are committed to positive change in the community. The core of our work is designed to prevent HIV, Hepatitis and other infections, while also keeping people alive and engaged. This is where overdose work becomes critical to what we do. CRA was the first in the world to bring naloxone/Narcan direct to the people who need it, and now there are 200 or so programs in operation in the United States alone! Yet, the price increase of naloxone makes continuation of this critical service far less likely to meet current or future needs.
I have never experienced as incredible of a feeling as when a particpant came back to see us and explained how they were able to save one of their best friends' lives due to the services and education that we provide them. This is an urgent time for us, as we work toward maintaining current services and providing life-saving, life-affirming options for CRA participants in a climate of raising prices and dwindling resources. We are hoping that you can all join us in raising necessary funds to continue this work. To accomplish some fund-raising while having fun, we are again doing the AIDS Walk in Chicago. This is a really fun, inspiring event! We enjoy walking the lakefront as a team with family and friends - please join us in doing so, or donate here to join us in spirit!
