Let's Run/Walk Together and Stomp Out the AIDS Epidemic
Well, it's that amazing time of the year again, when I encourage my fellow brothers and sisters to get involved with the community in a philantrophic effort to combat a cause that is near and dear to my heart: HIV/AIDS. You see, I have lost countless friends, and even a few family members to this still raging epidemic, but I promised myself that I would do more, say more, and give more in their honor. I would no longer standby and remain silent and allow their lives nor their deaths to be in vain.
Did you know that in Illinois alone, 50% of people living with diagnosed HIV in 2013 were black, 19% Hispanic/Latino, and 25% white? And, the number of new HIV diagnoses in 2014 was 813? That means there's still more work to be done.
Here's how you can help. AIDS Foundation of Chicago provides support to many organziations like Chicago House, who in turn offer life saving and changing resources to individuals and families who are affcted by HIV/AIDS. Any and all dollor amounts will impact those who are affcted by HIV/AIDS today through many of the programs we offer. Please, DONATE now!
On behalf of the many men and women who fight each day to stay alive and try to live well, thank you!
