Thank you for helping me reach my goals to help women and children
Many of you are aware of my commitment to increase the quality of life for women who are living with HIV, prevent their babies from contracting the virus, and assist in building healthy families. I am asking to please consider supporting my work by donating to the Pediatric AIDS Chicago Prevention Initiative (PACPI). As an advocate working side by side with PACPI for eighteen years, and a recent Board Member, our work is far from over.
PACPI’s mission is to eliminate HIV transmission of HIV/AIDS from mother to child and ensure that people living with the virus have equitable access to housing, health care, case management and other supportive services. The Organization has helped fund and develop a nationally recognized safety net and HIV prevention model, HIV-specific prenatal classes, a statewide hotline for pregnant HIV-positive women, enhanced case management linking HIV-positive women to care and rapid HIV testing for all pregnant women in Illinois.
PACPI is expanding services in efforts to stabilize families following childbirth. The extra time spent with the case manager will assist getting moms back on track with their own medical care, attend postpartum visits, identify signs of post-partum depression and make sure babies follow up for all well baby visits and immunizations.
Your support to PACPI means the world to me and to all the moms and babies that PACPI serves. You are directly helping moms to get to their appointments ($20 cab ride), stay adherent with directly observed therapy ($25 per observed dose), a can of formula ($30), a diaper bag filled with goodies ($50), or a car seat to take their perfect angel home from the hospital ($60).
Thank you for your support,
