AIDS Run & Walk Chicago 2018

Center on Halsted

Welcome to Team Center on Halsted!

We're back and hitting the ground running once more for 2018 AIDS Run & Walk Chicago, this year uniting our team for our 11th year of service to Chicago's LGBTQ community.

Center on Halsted is the Midwest's most comprehensive community center dedicated to advancing community and securing the health and well-being of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) people of Chicagoland. More than 1,400 community members visit the Center every day to recieve social services and partake in community & cultural programming.

Central to Center on Halsted's mission is our work in HIV/AIDS & STD services. The organization conducts over 4,000 HIV tests each year both at our Lakeview location and throughout the city of Chicago via outreach. Sexual health, education, and awareness are at the core of the program and staff are well-equiped to link individuals to care who test positive. Furthermore, Center on Halsted houses the State of Illinois HIV/AIDS & STD Hotline, an integral resource in Illinois and the Midwest to provide free and confidential referrals and resources to over 9,000 callers a year.

Your support of Center on Halsted's AIDS Run & Walk team ensures that we can continue to provide a high quality of service while reaching the greatest number of people possible, especially in a time of funding uncertainty for HIV/AIDS programming.
