I #RanProud last year. This year, I #TriProud AND #RunProud!

Running the my first Chicago Marathon last year with TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) was one of the greatest experiences in my life thus far. Not only was I able to accomplish the daunting goal of running the marathon and form some of the strongest friendships with amazing teammates, I was also able to raise over $2800 for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). It is with great enthusiam that I participate with T2 again, but this time I'm conquering a new goal...

For the 2019 season, I'm participating in BOTH the Chicago Triathlon on Sunday, August 25, 2019, and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 13, 2019. I'm gearing up for my biggest athlestic challenge in order to save lives and put an end to new HIV infections in Illinois.

Did you know that we can end new HIV diagnoses in Illinois?! As part of AFC's Getting Illinois to Zero campaign, AFC is leading a state-wide initiative to end the HIV epidemic in the state by 2030. You read that right, by 2030, or in other words in as little as twelve years!

Through partnerships with community-based organizations, health care providers, government agencies, people living with HIV and others, we can dramatically shift HIV in Illinois. In order to strive towards the AFC's vision of eliminating new HIV cases and ensuring those with living HIV and other chronic diseases thrive though, they're depending on me (and you) to get them there.

While the AFC has made great strides with three years of sustained efforts to secure a state budget that includes funds for HIV services and support, our current federal administration is quietly cutting neccesary funding for these services and putting the lives of those with HIV and at risk in danger. With support from me (and you), we can ensure AFC is continuing to make sure that people living with the virus have equitable access to housing, health care, case management and other supportive services.

I care deeply about AFC's work, and that's why I'm swimming, biking, and running, in August, then running some more in October! Please consider donating to my T2 campaign today to help me cross both finish lines, and save lives in Chicago and beyond. Just click the  DONATE TO ME  button to begin your positive impact.
