I Run Proud With T2: Help Me Help Save Lives and Complete the 2019 Chicago Marathon

On Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, I’m running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon with Team to End AIDS (T2), a team that’s training me to cross the finish line while I raise funds for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) with the goals of saving lives and putting an end to new HIV infections in Illinois.

While the story around HIV/AIDS has changed over the past few decades — especially with advances in medications, awareness and safer practices — that doesn’t mean it’s been cured or that it doesn’t change lives every single day. In 2015, 921 Chicagoans learned they are living with this incurable disease. While it’s a record low that will hopefully continue to decrease, it’s still a number that affects far too many.

That’s where AFC comes in. They're making sure that people living with the virus have equitable access to housing, health care, case management and other supportive services.

And between now and October, we can support AFC by raising money — a target goal of $1,300 — as I train to run 26.2 miles as a proud member of T2.  Help me cross the finish line and help thousands of people across Illinois live better lives.
